Another Day of Inspiration

Kristin Barton Cuthriell, M.Ed., MSW, LCSW

Helen Keller did not need an excuse to stay down, but she chose to get up anyway.

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.  My optimism, then, does not rest on the absence of evil, but on a glad belief in the preponderance of good and a willing effort always to cooperate with the good, that it may prevail.”  -Helen Keller

No Hearing  No Sight  All Vision!

Kristin’s note: To fully appreciate today’s inspiration, pause for a moment and imagine what it would be like to live your entire life deaf and blind; then read Helen’s quote again.

Now get up and have a great day!

  1. I remember reading a biography about Helen Keller when I was a child. Even then I found her story completely inspiring. She rose above the odds and I believe that everybody with a disability or other obstacle in their life should aspire to that strength and determination.

  3. Thank you, she and Annie Sullivan, her teacher!

  4. Anonymous says:

Helen Keller is one of the most amazing and inspiring people that has ever lived. The more I read about her, her life, her accomplishments, and her attitude… the more inspired and humbled I am.

  5. Thank you for mentioning my post.
