It is only a pathway

Life…oh how it ebbs and flows.  We want to live on the mountain.  On the mountain, we are inspired and we feel our best.  But it is in the valley where we grow.  For it is in the valley where we learn to appreciate our time on the mountain.  Don’t give up when you are in the valley.  The valley is not the stopping point.  It is not a destination.  Know that being in the valley means that it is time to climb!

Reflection: Do you remember a time when you were in the valley? What did you learn? How did you grow? Maybe you are in the valley right now. Get ready to climb!

  1. I don’t know where I got this philosophy, but I’m very practical. Some days are good, some days have sadness in them, but there’s always tomorrow. Kind of like “the sun’ll come out tomorrow…” but I really believe. Only something like losing my son would upset my thinking. If that ever happened, all bets are off. I’d be unconsolable forever.

  6. Here I am in a valley, at Christmas time, I am hurt and recovery may be weeks away, soooo my patience is tested daily to lie low, and allow my body to heal. My mind has rearranged the furniture, cleaned the garage, sorted the decorations and is screaming for me to put them up………but no, the valley is here, and I cannot climb, yet.

I’ve have been many journeys in the valley so far. I have started to climb the mountain, but I still slide down. Recently though, I got my determination back to start climbing again because of Faith in God and in myself. With the help of more positive thinking and prayer I feel like I’m getting closer to the peak. Lovely post and so true.
