A Short Message to Start Your Day

window“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.” -Dale Carnegie

I don’t know about you, but it is a little too cold for roses to be blooming outside my window today. But Dale Carnegie’s message comes across loud and clear. I will stop and appreciate the snow flurries outside my window instead.

Let’s all take a moment today to appreciate the good things in our life. You may be going through a rough season in your life and find this difficult to do. But the good things are there. You may just have to look through the fog to see them.

If you are feeling so blue that you cannot think of anything to be thankful for, go do a little something special for someone else today. By brightening up someone else’s day, your day will brighten too- even if it is dreary outside.

Roses, snowflakes, or anything in between….

Appreciate the moment and have a great day!

You are worth it!

As Neale Donald Walsch says: The fastest way to experience something is to help someone else experience it first. Thanks for the reminder Kristin. :)

Great words of encouragement. Every time we reach out with kindness to another person our heart expands its capacity for love and compassion.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  4. Hi Kristin. My friend and colleague were just talking about this last night. Since we are both over 50 and work in healthcare we see a lot of people who wait until they retire to “enjoy” life and then their health fails. They regret that they did not do things while they were younger. We must enjoy the roses each day, great post!

Great timing on this post! I’m going to take the time to enjoy the snow as well. Along with burying myself in my writing and stepping away from the chaos of technology! Thanks for the share! :)

I feel as though it’s a sign! :) Maybe we should all take a little time off. It would certainly help our busy lives and renew our minds! ;)

The exercise of counting blessings works. Once I start counting, I find I can’t stop! Also, replacing the phrase “I have to do this or that” with “I GET to do this or that” keeps joy in the foreground in everything that you do.

This is a clear reminder. We often put off our happiness today by looking for happiness tomorrow.
